Event Details

Repository Fringe 2011 aims to showcase a range of innovative repository and related developments to coincide with the 'preview week' (yes, that does mean cheaper tickets) for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Designed for developers and coders, repository managers and practitioners, the programme always has an 'unconference' feel, and will feature contributions from a wide range of repository actors.

A more formal programme will be announced in due course, but if you've been to previous events you'll know what to expect...

  • Invited keynote speakers
  • Live demonstrations of innovative work
  • "Lightning" presentations on subjects relating to current, or future repository endeavours
  • Facilitated Round Table discussions
  • Tutorials and presentations on relevant topics
  • Workshops and developer day activities on Friday 5 August, including a Code Challenge and a CETIS meeting: "Advances in Open Systems for Learning Resources"

We really value your contributions to the programme so please email us (repofringe@gmail.com) with your ideas and keep an eye on our blog and tweets for updates. The hashtag is #rfringe11. You can also join our Lanyrd page and Flickr group.

The Repository Fringe is always popular and numbers are limited, so please book now!

For catering reasons it would be very helpful if you could book for each day you will be attending (see ticket options above). Pick all of the days you plan to attend - if you are booking for the Workshops we'll be in touch again with more details - and fill in your information.

You should receive a confirmation email (there is no need to print your ticket) and your name will appear an attendee at the bottom of this page (if there is a particular reason you would prefer not to appear on this list please email us your booking details insead). And that's it, you'll be registered and we'll see you at Repository Fringe 2011.

We will post additional information and links to booking forms for the day three Repository Fringe workshops here and on the Repository Fringe 2011 blog. Workshops will include:

We would recommend you book transport and accomodation as soon as possible as Edinburgh get's a wee bit busy during August!

The University of Edinburgh offers various high quality and reasonably priced accomodation options in the city centre (all are walking distance from our venue and all are a pleasant walk, or quick bus or taxi ride from the train station or airport). You can search available accomodation on the Edinburgh First website.

Visit Scotland offers an accomodation search and booking line for Edinburgh. More information can be found in the accomodation area of the Edinburgh Tourist Board website.

The Other Fringe
