March is National Nutrition Month. This year's theme is "Enjoy the Taste of Eating Right." We are hosting several cooking events to explore this theme.
This interactive demonstration begins with a quick review of building blocks for sensible eating. We’ll include shopping tips for ready-made offerings, simple product switches, and pantry staples that taste good and provide the nutrients you need. We’ll also demonstrate how to give your plate a “taste lift” with cooking methods and flavor-boosting condiments. Our menu includes Spicy Roasted Green Beans, Butternut Bisque with Ginger Pear Chutney, and Pan-seared Salmon with Pumpkin Seed Cilantro Pesto. Bring your healthful eating questions, and we’ll serve up answers!

Thyme in the Kitchen, where the epicurious come to cook! Explore your own culinary world with Sunset Foods. "Thyme in the Kitchen" cooking classes are offered at our Lake Forest, Long Grove and Northbrook stores. We have the equipment and expertise to teach recipes and techniques from the simple to the sublime.
Whether you're looking for some fun time out with friends or you want to expand your repertoire and improve your skills, we're here to help. The majority of our classes are hands-on, intermingled with wellness/educational seminars and food demonstrations. Classes are available for children and adults. We are also happy to host private classes.
Our hands-on classes accommodate from six to eight stations. Each station is prepped with ingredients and tools for all recipes to make your experience fun and hassle-free. The intimate environment of our studios permits personalized instruction, so you get the most from you culinary experience.
