Remote Usability Testing

Monday, March 18th from 7:00pm-9:00pm

Diane LoviglioResident Mentor at 500 Startups and ex-Mozilla User Researcher

Whether you're conducting research for a well established product/service or a startup that hasn't fully penetrated the market yet, you're going to have to talk to past, current and potential customers, and the most efficient way to do that is to conduct remote one-on-one usability tests.

Class Schedule

5:30 - 6:00PM: Introductions, What is user research and why use remote usability tests

6:00 - 6:30PM: Techniques & Tools

6:30  - 7:00PM: Practice Usability Testing and Wrap up

Student Takeaways

  1. Learn the techniques for conducting a moderated remote usability test
  2. Learn the common tools used for desktop and mobile remote usability
  3. Practice conducting a remote interview

Who should attend this workshop?  Founders, Product Marketers, UX Designers and Community Managers who want to interview people to gain a deeper understanding of their motivations, values, needs and behaviors.  Once you understand your users - or potential users - you can build more engaging products and learn to speak in their language and not yours.

Students should bring their headphones, laptops, paper and pen.
