Misho Gallery is proud to present "Remains to be Seen" 18 new works by well-known Thai contemporary artist, Pichai Pongsasaovapark.
Artist Opening Reception will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014, from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM. This show will run through September 20th.
Pichai Pongsasaovapark is a Bangkok-based artist and designer. Inspired by Japanese philosopher Dr. Daisaku Ikeda's observations on nature, art, and culture, he uses acrylics and mixed media to create textured, visually complex abstract work. A member of the famous V64 Art Studio collective in Bangkok and the Pattaya Freelance Artists Group, this is his first solo exhibition in the United States.
His work has been acquired by a number of international collectors, including the Luciano Benetton Foundation Imago Mundi Collection in Milan, Italy, and he and his work are featured in two landmark collections of Thai art to be published in 2014, including the Fine Art Magazine Thai Directory of Contemporary Artists and the Luciano Benetton Collection's Contemporary Artists from Thailand.
In addition, Pichai's work has been shown in Marseille, France; Amsterdam, Netherlands, and throughout Thailand. He is represented by Gallery One in New Delhi, India; So Art Gallery in Amsterdam, Netherlands; and the Meeting Room Gallery in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
He has participated in several artist programs abroad, including a two-week program in Amsterdam, Brussels, Marseille, and Paris; a five-day program in Tokyo; a two-week program in Los Angeles and San Francisco; and will be doing a month-long residency internship in San Francisco with abstract artist and photographer Michel Misho.
Currently, he is completing his MFA in painting at Chiang Mai University Faculty of Fine Arts,
