Event Details

Effective and inclusive leadership skills depend on a certain level of “literacy” in the language of diversity—yet taboos against talking about difference often make it difficult to learn about others from casual conversation alone. This is especially true regarding religious difference.

In this special workshop series, participating student leaders will be introduced to the basic history, structure, beliefs and practices of a handful of the world’s religious groups. A group discussion will focus on the need for religious literacy as a competency for effective student leaders. Finally, participants will draft individualized  action plans for developing religious literacy as an ongoing practice of inclusive leadership.
