Regina Resnik Presents Geto: The Historic Ghetto of Venice

Michael Philip Davis, Stage Director, Author, Artistic Director, and Vice President of Regina Resnik, will speak on Sunday, May 5, 2013 as part of the Jewish Historical Society of Fairfield County’s May Featured Program. The talk and presentation of Regina Resnik Presents Geto: The Historic Ghetto of Venice, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Road, Stamford, Connecticut 06902, starting at 10:30 AM with refreshments at 10:00 AM. This event is co-sponsored by Holocaust Child Survivors of Connecticut.
The award winning film Geto: The Historic Ghetto of Venice, narrated by the American mezzo-soprano opera star turned producer, Regina Resnik, first aired on PBS in 1983 and is newly restored and digitized for its 30th anniversary re-release. Resnik directed and produced the documentary with her late husband, Arbit Blatas. The Holocaust section has been augmented with Italian and German footage rarely, if ever, seen in the United States. Michael Philip Davis, Regina Resnik’s son, will present the visually and emotionally spellbinding documentary, which is scheduled to be aired by WNET/ Thirteen throughout this anniversary year. He will host a Q&A afterwards.
