Deep in our roots, there are stories of our ancestors living in healthy, regenerative communities—villages where people of all ages were in deep relationship with the land, each other, and themselves. Regenerative Judaism is an experiential, nature-based program designed to help us remember these old ways and learn to apply them to our modern communities. The vision for this training is to empower individuals to foster thriving Jewish communities with deep earth-based connections through this first of ongoing week-long workshops.
We’ll do this by:
1. Building a community of workshop participants who are able to teach the community-building tools employed at the workshop.
2. Participants will experience earth connection, while taking time to learn the art, skills and magic of bringing more earth connection to their homes and communities.
3. Integrating Jewish stories, teachings, songs, rituals and practices to inform and inspire the above mentioned objectives (community-building and earth connection)
The program is modeled off of a similar program, called the Art of Mentoring, which takes best practices from different ancient and indigenous cultures to help us create our own communities, cultures and regenerative communities.
The program will be a mix of experiential fun and exploration while taking time to talk and explain ideas and skills.
While the program is new and still being designed, here are some of the activities that will likely be offered:
Community-building and exploring thriving community models and design tools
Art of Mentoring and Permaculture teachings
Nature awareness, bird language, overnights in the forest
Elevating Jewish stories, songs, rituals and teachings
