Making Sense of the Old Testament
- Religion & Spirituality
- The River Upstate at OB Hospitalist Group, Mauldin SC
The River is hosting a five-week course to enrich your ability to read and understand the Bible. The course starts with what you already know about reading and applies it to reading Scripture, rather than starting with what you don’t know about reading the Bible. Coupled with "lab time" where you will experience the joy of personal discovery in reading Scripture, this course will forever change the way you read the Bible.
One recent participant wrote:"We all left the class wanting to read the Bible well, wanting to know God better." Another commented: "I didn't think this kind of course was something you would call fun. But I can't remember having as much fun in reading Scripture. This is why I don't typically go to 'Bible studies,' because they're not like this!"
This course meets for five consecutive Thursday evenings, beginning September 4, 2014, meeting from 6:30 until 9 each evening. (Sept 4, 11, 18, 25, Oct 2, 2014.)
Although there is no charge for the class, we would like you to register if you would like to attend so that we can plan accordingly.
Every Christian needs opportunities to grow in the grace and knowledge fo the Lord Jesus and to deeped his or her understanding of Scripture (2 Peter 3:18). The River is a cooperative ministry venture focused on empowering and encouraging communities of faith through Biblical training, curricula, and mentorship. Through a growing understanding of Scripture, believers will discover a richness of Biblical truth that will supplement their journey in faith, enhance their joy in Jesus, and encourage them in ministry in their respective churches.
