This fall you have the opportunity to take part in The Orange County Chapter of Childhelp's first ever "Rat Pack Redux" event. On Saturday October 18th, 2014, The Balboa Bay Resort will head back to the days of martinis and crooners as we raise money to support Childhelp's efforts. While live entertainment by "The Tijuana Dogs" fills the ballroom and guests "Roll the Dice" at gaming tables. We are asking for your attendance and donations to make our event a huge success!
This year Childhelp celebrates its 55th year of existing to meet the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of abused, neglected and at-risk children. Your donation changes each life of abuse and neglect by providing the necessary tools to heal emotional wounds, allowing them to grow into their God given potential and break the cycle of abuse. In California, our programs include our National Hotline 1-800-4-A-CHILD, trained therapeutic foster homes, group homes, and our Childhelp Merv Griffin Residential Village in a ranch style setting in Beaumont. At the Village, which houses 84 children, our healing therapeutic programs of Ranch, Wilderness, Music, Art, Chapel and Recreation exist ONLY because of the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations.
We are proud to report that last year Childhelp touched the lives of over 800,000 children and 91 cents of every dollar went directly to our programs. In addition, "The Rat Pack Redux" is being planned and executed by volunteers...not paid staff.
