Hack Manhattan is proud to host a talk and workshop presented by the creators of the Raspberry Pi!
The Raspberry Pi (affectionately, "RasPi") is a remarkable $35 post-card-sized computer making tidal waves in DIY and Hacker circles. More powerful than your first computer but fits in your palm, it is increasingly used as a high-powered complement or alternative to the Arduino.
Hack Manhattan views the RasPi as a paradigm shift in High Hackery: it's no longer necessary to compromise capability, performance, portability and funds. You and I have not yet figured out all that this little beast can be, because we haven't played around with it enough.
Let's fix that! You are cordially invited to a workshop and talk at Hack Manhattan specifically devoted to the Raspberry Pi. The staff of the Rasperry Pi Foundation (we call them 'technomancers') will be there to talk about the Foundation, talk about the RasPi, answer your questions, and best of all, to help you hack! They will also have RasPis available for sale. They also promise to address the dark rumors that the Raspberry Pi is a harbinger of the Singularity.
We're so excited, we've booked them for two three-hour sessions on September 22nd, one at 10am and another at 2pm. Remember, this is a mere week before Maker Faire NYC, so bring in your Raspberry Pi related Maker Faire project. Stay tuned to our website and various social media sites for useful hints about the RasPi and hacking in general.
Hack Manhattan is a non-profit cooperative space in Lower Manhattan dedicated to technology, science, and art.
