Rare Barrel-Aged Beer Party: 10 Limited Allagash Beers at Clinton Hall at Clinton Hall on Thursday, March 13 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM!

Allagash Avancé

Wild Ale - 10.8%
Allagash Avancé is a product of patience. Aged with strawberries for three years in bourbon barrels, this strong, sour ale has the aroma of strawberry preserves and toasted oak. The oak and berries continue their presence in flavor, and compliment the sweet, warm finish.

James Bean

Belgian Tripel - 10.3%
James Bean is our bourbon barrel aged Tripel (Curieux), with cold pressed coffee added. We use coffee from www.mattscoffee.com right here in Maine. Released January 2013.

Allagash Red Howes

Imperial Stout - 8.5%
Black in color with a creamy biege head, Red Howes is a stout brewed with 2-Row barley, a blend of roasted malts and 3,000lbs of local cranberries, both Red Howes and Early Black varieties. The finished beer has cocoa, coffee and berries in the aroma and flavors of dried fruit and bitter chocolate with a slight tartness and a dry, lingering finish.

Allagash Curieux

Belgian Tripel - 11%
In October of 2004, we released the first beer in our series of Barrel Aged beers, Allagash Curieux. To make the Curieux we age our Tripel Ale in Jim Beam barrels for 8 weeks in our cellar. During the aging process in bourbon barrels, the beer is totally transformed, and many new flavors and aromas develop. Most notably, the beer picks up soft coconut and vanilla characteristics...and also a hint of bourbon flavor!

Allagash Odyssey

Belgian Dark Strong Ale - 10.4%
Odyssey is the second edition in our Barrel Aged series. It is a dark wheat beer. We age a portion of the beer in New American Medium Toast Oak for 10 months, and a portion in stainless steel for more than six months. We then blend the two different portions of beer to taste. Finally we bottle condition, adding additional yeast and Candi sugar. This deep brown beer boasts an aroma of black treacle and raisin. The flavor hints at dates, with a mildly roasted finish. The finish is dry, punctuated by vanilla.

Allagash Midnight Brett

Wild Ale - 7.3%
Midnight Brett is chocolate brown in color, brewed with Midnight wheat, raw wheat and rye malt. It was hopped with a blend of Perle, Glacier and Simcoe hops. The beer was fermented with our house strain of Brettanomyces in stainless tanks. The finished beer has the aroma and flavor of fresh berries, sour cherries and a slight roasted character. The finish is pleasantly tart and fruity making this beer very drinkable.

Allagash Fluxus 2013

Porter - 6.4%
Allagash Fluxus is a beer of continuous change. Brewed differently every year to commemorate our anniversary, this year's Fluxus is a porter brewed with a blend of 2-row, coffee and chocolate malts with blood orange pulp and zest. It was hopped using Perle, Tettnang and Glacier varieties. It was then fermented with a Belgian Abbey yeast. The resulting beer is dark brown in color with chocolate and roasted notes throughout the flavor and aroma. The blood orange has a subtle presence in the aroma and the zest expresses itself in the mouth-drying finish by leaving a lingering bitterness. This full bodied ale was the creation of Allagash brewer Patrick Saville, lover of heavy metal, beer and all things dark.

Allagash Four

Quadrupel (Quad) Ale - 10%
Allagash Four is brewed with four malts, four hops, four sugars and four Belgian yeast strains. Date Sugar is added to the mash tun. Later we add Light Candi, Dark Candi, and Light Golden Molasses. After primary fermentation with the first strain of yeast, we add more Candi Sugar, and referment the beer with a secondary strain of yeast... that process is then repeated with a third strain of yeast, and finally a fourth for bottle conditioning in the cellar. Flavors of raisin, candied fruit and plum express themselves throughout.

Allagash Grand Cru 2014

Belgian Golden Strong Ale - 7.2%
We brew this special, deep-golden colored beer each year in limited quantities. It has a full, yet refined malty palate and a gentle fruit and spice aroma. Grand Cru is brewed with a touch of peated malt and spiced with coriander, sweet orange peel and a hint of anise. It is full bodied and has hints of smoke and licorice in the taste and aroma. The malty, warming finish is perfect for colder weather.

Allagash Confluence Ale 2013

Belgian Golden Strong Ale - 7.5%
Confluence is created with a mixed fermentation; using our house primary Belgian style yeast in combination with our proprietary Brettanomyces strain. The two yeast strains work in tandem creating a marriage between spice and fruit flavors that ultimately leave a lingering silky mouth feel. After fermentation, Confluence undergoes a lengthy aging process in stainless steel tanks to enhance the flavors. Prior to bottling, it is dry hopped with Glacier hops, providing a pleasant balance of aromas.

Cheers,

Rich
