Broome Street Academy High School serves students who have faced significant levels of trauma, many of whom have a history of school failure and do not have adults in their lives that support them academically. To engage their students, Broome Street provides advisors, mentors, social workers, and counselors, and foster relational trust in a safe, caring environment that meets their students’ academic, social and emotional needs. BSA is partnered with and housed at The Door – A Center of Alternatives, Inc., a nationally renowned youth development center that provides comprehensive health and mental health care, crisis services, legal services, college and workforce development programs, supportive housing, nutritious meals, and arts and recreation activities.
