Queer TV: A Conversation about Subtle Messages and Stereotypes: 12-1pm
The staff of Stand In Pride will present clips of popular queer TV/films and lead a discussion regarding the sometimes over-looked messages given to us via this form of media. We'll examine the focus on alcohol-laden culture, over-concentration on sexuality, and lack of lesbian representation.

Santos Lopez has twenty years of experience in the kitchen and classroom. He’ll teach you why it’s so important to eat a balanced diet and how to make it happen. Come learn how to add color to your plate!

Biblical Self-Defense: 2-4pm
Rev. Justin Cannon from St. Giles Episcopal Church in Moraga will guide students through “The Bible, Christianity, & Homosexuality”, his study on the truth about the texts often misused to condemn LGBT. He’ll help you move beyond a defensive stance, looking towards scriptural affirmation and a vision of being LGBT as a God-given gift. In 2006, Justin was recognized by Out Magazine as one of their “Out 100” people of the year.

Theatre for Dialogue, Social Justice, and Fun: 2-4pm
This workshop will introduce participants to theatre games and exercises useful for community building and dialogue about social justice issues. We’ll explore ideas of family, identity and conflict. No acting experience necessary. Teacher Christine Baniewicz is an artist with ImaginAction and has led seminars in the United States, Northern Ireland and Palestine

We're dedicating our space to a multitude of workshops and classes on a variety of topics including, but not limited to:


  • Career Planning
  • Financial Planning
  • Biblical Self Defense (Hebrew and Christian Scriptures)
  • Cake Decorating
  • Make up for Beginners
  • Explore your Inner Drag Queen

The event is free but we are requesting a $10 donation on the day of the event to help cover costs for lunch.

Registering in advance is not required but  will help assure that we have enough food on the day of the event.
