Quick Left's Rube Goldberg Hackfest
Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (MDT)
Most Quick Left Hackfests are what you build in 3 hours or less. But this time we’re not worried about what you build...but how you get there. This Rube Goldberg Hackfest will have you completing a simple task in the most complex of ways. We may throw in some wrenches midstream too!
No need to form a team before-hand, they'll come together night of and will write in the language of their choice. Developers, designers, and spectators are welcome. Prizes awarded for the top teams and the beer is on us. So come play for a bit. Doors open at 6 and the hacking kicks off at 6:30 sharp.
ATOMS Express, Gnip, MobiPlug, and KST have all agreed to sponsor this Hackfest and give us toys to play with! Visit their sites and thank them for the food and drink when you arrive. Prizes will be awarded too from each company.
ATOMS Express' plug-and-play building blocks come loaded with smart tech to help kids of all ages become makers and builders of interactive creations. Welcome to toys 2.0.
Gnip With the most sources, the most customers, and the most robust ingrastructure, Gnip reliably delivers an enourmous stream of social media data. Gnip will open up the Twitter Decahose for this evening only, so yeah, you want to be here.
KSTechnologies specializes in design services that wirelessly link hardware accessory products to Apple's iOS, Android, and the new Windows 8 movile operating system applications. KST is ponying up some bluetooth low energy devices for each team and providing free devices for the top three teams.
MobiPlug Mobiplug makes smart home connectivity a reality with a plug-and-play gateway that easily detects and joins together hundreds of off-the-shelf home electronics from retailers such as Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe's, and Best Buy.
