PYP Freelance Business Development Summit: Transforming Artists Into Stylepreneurs

White Plains, NY
The PYP Workshops and the PYP Freelance Business Development Summit are the brainchild of former makeup hair and styling agent, and Hair Makeup & Fashion Styling Career Guide author Crystal Wright.
She is committed to providing the essential skills artists need to be successful as freelance Makeup Artists, Hair Stylists, Fashion Stylists and Manicurists.
"I want to give artists an industry insiders insight into how to gain representation, build their portfolios and market themselves," she says. What's important, is that an artist focuses on the things that matter to creative decision-makers.”
Each year she facilitates one-on-one coaching sessions, industry seminars, PYP workshops, and her latest venture, the PYP Freelance Business Development Summit––a 3-Day conference that promotes networking within the ENTIRE community and provides 2-3 hours seminars and panel discussions designed to address common themes, while eliminating skill gaps and addressing misconceptions. “As a former agent, I was in the privileged position to provide advice and training that could close these gaps and improve the business skills of freelance artists. I could see the needs," she said. "Artists need help building and then sustaining their businesses. I find many artists lack the skills to reinvent themselves in the constantly changing work environment. They want representation but don’t know how to get the best and most appropriate agents, or they are stuck in agency relationships that aren't going anywhere––the Summit is going to change that. The Summit is my answer to the call to action for more information, confidence, competence, tools and business skills. It's the natural evolution of the PYP Workshops. Artists can pick and choose classes that will get them to the next level or get them over the hump. It will develop self awareness of their skills, knowledge gaps, and provide the FOCUS needed to become a more productive and sustainable business whilst retaining the joy, excitement and creativity of a true artist and industry professional.”
