Purple Onion Cafe Bernardus Wine Dinner
Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM (PST)
Purple Onion Cafe is pulling out all the stops for Bernardus Winemaker Dinner on Thursday, February 28th. Not only will winemaker Dean DeKorth be making a rare appearance, but we will also be tasting the superb and almost impossible to find 2009 Vineyard Designate Pinor Noir, Pisoni Vineyard (28 cases in CA), and 2008 Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc (10 cases in CA).
Winemaker Dean DeKorth, an American, is a French winemaker—all of his early impressions about wine came from his education and apprenticeship in France. With this old-world sense of taste, Dean seeks to make wines that flatter the palate. A viticulturalist, enologist, scholar, craftsman, and artist, Dean DeKorth brings to his winemaking a time-honored knowledge of wine and an endless passion to the Purple Onion Cafe’s Bernardus Winemaker Dinner.
The French have perfected the art of using, locally harvested ingredients to create straightforward, deceptively delicious meals. So it is only fitting that we follow, dans la grande tradition française, with a dinner composed of quintessential farm-to-table fare.
