Event Details

Join Purdue Alumni in the North/Northwest Suburbs for a combined event of community service and game watching in Libertyville, IL on Saturday, December 14. We will start together volunteering at Feed My Starving Children packing meals from 2 to 4pm, then gather afterwards at Morgan's Bar & Grill to catch Purdue Mens Basketball tip-off at 5pm against Butler in the Crossroads Classic! We ask that you RSVP via our "Tickets" to sign up for either or both events so we know to expect you.

More on our "Volunteer First!" @ 742 E. Park Avenue (Route 176), Libertyville

The Feed My Starving Children Organization provides meals to children around the world. We will assist at a food packing session and each volunteer will pack about fifty dollars worth of food. They ask that you make a donation but the amount is up to you and they accept cash, check and credit cards. They ask that you do not wear any jewelry though wedding bands and stud earrings are permitted also please wear comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes. Our session will last from 2 to 4pm. Please plan to arrive ten to fifteen minutes before the session starts for registration and orientation. The facility is located at the back of the parking lot, so please turn in when you see the Park Avenue Corporate Centre sign off Route 176. Further information (especially with regards to child volunteers) can be found at www.fmsc.org by clicking on the Libertyville facility. NOTE: As of late November, we hit our max participation allowed by Feed My Starving Children. Ellen Peter will be our group contact, so with any questions email her at secretary@purduenorthsuburbs.org.

Can't make the afternoon? Watch the Game @ 532 N. Milwaukee Ave, Libertyville

Morgan's Bar & Grill will have reserved seating for us with TVs and sound on the B1G Network for watching the Mens team tip-off at 5pm against Butler in the Crossroads Classic. There is no advance payment required, as we have arranged for you to "Pay On Your Own" with the bar. All we ask is you let us know in advance you're coming so we can give a good headcount to Morgan's.

Again RSVP via our "Tickets" and sign up for either or both events. If you can't make it, help us get the word out! Your Purdue friends, and even the kiddos at times are welcome to join. We also look forward to your suggestions to do other events like this around the North and Northwest Suburbs too so email us with your ideas at officers@purduenorthsuburbs.org.
