Join IU authors and publishing professionals for a discussion about how to publish your first academic book. Topics will include an overview of the publishing process, writing a book proposal, choosing the right publisher for your field, and publicizing your book. A question and answer session will follow.
Panelists include Dave Hulsey, Sales and Marketing Director at IU Press; James H. Madison, Thomas and Kathryn Miller Professor Emeritus of History; Dee Mortensen, Senior Sponsoring Editor at IU Press; and Greg Waller, Professor of Film and Media Studies and former Chair of the Department of Communication and Culture. Carolyn Walters, executive director of the Office of Scholarly Publishing, will moderate the panel.
