Public Art Discussion Series
FIRST SESSION TOPIC of 2012-2013: What is Today's Public Art? A Chorus of Ideas
Please join us for the kick-off of the 2012-2013 Public Art Discussion Series! Presented in partnership with Arts @ 29 Garden at Harvard University, this event will explore the multifaceted nature of public art through project sharing and discussion. All levels of public art experience are welcome.
The programming will feature ten short three-minute presentations of recent public art projects that represent the diversity within the public art field. These brief presentations will serve as the fervor for a discussion of "what is public art?" led by moderator, Cher Knight. Dr. Knight is an Associate Professor of Art History at Emerson College, the co-founder of Public Art Dialogue and a published author on public art.
This session is all about sharing! Be heard and be seen! We encourage you to bring promotional materials (handouts, business cards, pamphlets, etc.) to post on a communal sharing board at the event. Also, a slideshow will be running as a backdrop to the panel discussion. To have your work spotlighted, please send digital images (5 max) with your name, the work's title and location to Elysian.
Arts @ 29 Garden is Harvard University's new space intended to support and enable creativity, collaboration, experiementation and art-making amongst faculty, students and visiting artists.
