Lots of Moms and caregivers asked for one. So, by popular demand…
Three of our Kids Plus Providers -- Kerry McGee, MD, Susan Stevens, MD, and Katie Lamendola, CRNP -- will offer an entertaining, informative, interactive workshop that focuses on the physical and emotional changes of adolescence. This fun, fast-paced class will include some teaching, some learning activities, and plenty of time for questions, answers, and open discussion.
Some of our goals for the class are to:
• Start talking to each other! Discussing sexuality and adolescence can be hard. We want to make it easier by jump-starting that conversation in class, so you can continue it at home.
• Give good, up-to-date information in fun, dynamic setting. We'll include some activities to help make things more fun and less awkward. [For one special activity and discussion, we ask that every partcipant bring a favorite photo of your class partner. iPhone pictures will work nicely.]
• Promote a healthy self-image. We want to help, teach, and empower young women for their futures.
• Create a comfortable, supportive environment to talk about issues facing adolescent girls.
The class, meets at The Well, our community meeting and education space, just a few doors down from our Squirrel Hill/Greenfield office.
The class is open to the entire community, not just to Kids Plus patients and families.
[All ticket sales are final.]
