Thelma Shobe Lecture - 2013

Ethics, Spirituality, & Health: Providers and Reproductive Freedom

Many religious traditions support reproductive freedom for women.  What is the religious basis for protecting women's access to this freedom?  What are the problems of religions that do not respect the full humanity of women as moral decision-makers?  What are the ethics involved for the healthcare provider delivering reproductive care?

Join Dr. Kit Chesla, RN, DNSc, FAAN, School of Nursing Thelma Shobe Endowed Chair in welcoming two distinguished speakers to UC San Francisco:  Rev. Rita Nakashima Brock, Ph.D. will speak on Religion and the Case for Women's Reproductive Freedom, and Margaret Olivia Little, Ph.D.,  will speak on Abortion, Conscience, and the Ethics of Provision to discuss ethics for the health care provider.
