Small businesses have a proud and rewarding history in the United States. Competing with big business, however, is no small task and small business owners may need to consider and address a variety

of issues which can affect day-to-day operations: employeebenefits, employee health insurance coverage, reporting and disclosure requirements and claims processes. Recent reforms and requirements all contribute

to the complexity of running a small businesses with shifting healthcare coverage laws.

Santa Monica College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Administration, Los Angeles District Office offers free, confidential one-on-one business consulting, as well as low-cost workshops, to support new entrepreneurs and current business owners in all aspects of successfully running a small business.  SBDC’s consultants have education and expertise in a diversity of areas, including but not limited to:  Financing, Marketing, Business Operations and Management, Business Planning and more to help your business grow.

The SBDC is funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration, and also funded in part by state, local, and private sector partners. The Small Business Administration and Resource Partners (such as SBDC, WBC and SCORE) offer a variety of free classes for business owners in its conference room, located at 330 N. Brand Blvd., Suite 1200, Glendale, CA 91203.

The SBA & Resource Partner training workshops are made possible by the generous support of volunteer teachers and presenters. Their time and expertise is appreciated; however, these presentations do not represent an endorsement of the presenters' views, opinions, products, or services by the SBA or Resource Partners. All SBA programs are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis. Reasonable arrangements for persons with disabilities will be made, if requested at least 2 weeks in advance.
