Violence of any kind, early in life – either experienced or observed – can have long-lasting and detrimental impacts on children.  Research has shown that the early years in a child’s life—while the human brain is forming—represent a critically important window of opportunity to develop a child’s full potential and shape key academic, social, and cognitive skills that determine a child’s success in school and in life.  A nurturing environment in the early years can modify an individual’s brain development and the ability to deal with stressful conditions later in life.  Join us March 16 for an afternoon to learn how young Palestinian children's sense of well-being can benefit from the Waldorf approach to early childhood education.

Southern California Muslim-Jewish Forum

The Southern California Muslim-Jewish Forum is an umbrella body focused on strengthening Muslim-Jewish ties in Greater Los Angeles. The coalition of Muslim and Jewish congregations and organizations represented in the Southern California Muslim-Jewish Forum (see list below) are resolved to stand up for each other when either Muslims or Jews are victims of hate crimes, incitement or bigotry; to work to better educate our two communities about each other in order to lessen misunderstanding and misinformation; and to encourage the holding of Muslim-Jewish celebratory, educational and social service events at which Muslim and Jewish Angelenos can meet and build friendships while serving the larger LA community.
