Protecting Human Rights for the International LGBT Community
Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, CA
The Institute of International Education in partnership with the SF LGBT Community Center is pleased to present a panel discussion on Protecting Human Rights for the International LGBT Community.
Panelists drawn from a delegation representing 15 different countries will share their experiences with monitoring, influencing, and advocating for LGBT rights within their home countries. They will also provide insight into how LGBT rights groups can work effectively across regions and across borders.
The participants of the Advocating for Human and Civil Rights for the LGBT Community delegation are in San Francisco through the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program and are supported by FHI 360. Through IVLP, IIE is honored to bring over 1,000 emerging leaders from around the globe to the San Francisco Bay Area each year.
IIE greatly appreciates our partners at the Hilton Financial District Hotel, and recognizes their generosity in hosting this community event.
