The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Office of Environmental Education is offering a free online Project Learning Tree (PLT) workshop for charter school teachers only.

Registration is required to attend the workshop. To register for this Event you must receive an invite from our office. This invite can be obtained by calling us at (850) 245-2145 or emailing our office at  jacquelyn.a.zimmerman@dep.state.fl.us.

Once you have received your invite to register you must complete the registration process by 12PM on September 9th. After this time registration will be opened up to our waitlist for any unclaimed seats.

Quick Workshop Description:
Project Learning Tree is an award-winning, multidisciplinary program for PreK-8 grades. It features hands-on learning activities, differentiated instruction, reading and technology connections, outdoor explorations and can be used to enhance your STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math)programming.

There is no cost for charter teachers to register or attend this professional development training. This workshop will supply 6 instructional hours of training in PLT.

This is a self-paced online workshop. Components of the course includes: online video modules, module Reflection Worksheets, a workshop wrap-up presentation and our workshop evaluations. All components of the workshop must be met (completed) within a certain allotted time frame in order to receive the PLT workshop certificate (used for documenting completion of the course).

**Please Note**  Teachers are responsible for ensuring they are in compliance with their school districts policies regarding in-service points and on-line training. Should your district have special requirements please contact us directly.

We will supply workshop materials and certificates that may be used to document completion of the workshop requirements. The Office of Environmental Education’s core program includes outdoor experiential environmental education for middle school students, the annual Florida Green School Awards Program, and summer teacher professional development workshops. In addition, the Office of Environmental Education supports outreach initiatives within the Department of Environmental Protection, including the agency’s annual Earth Day at the Capitol event, as well as regional education efforts such as the Gulf of Mexico Alliance’s Environmental Education
