The City of Norfolk Office to End Homelessness will bring together local homeless services agencies and organizations to provide “one-stop” access to much-needed resources at Project Homeless Connect 12. The OTEH as well as service providers throughout South Hampton Roads will be welcoming volunteers and guests from Norfolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach to this event. The event features medical providers, housing agencies, employment agencies, and mainstream benefits specialists. Participants also receive donated goods as well as services from local barbers and hairstylists, a local telephone carrier, and communities of faith.

Project Homeless Connect events have captured national attention, having been selected as a “Best Practice” model by the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness in 2007. Since its implementation in 2005, the semi-annual Project Homeless Connect events have provided goods and services to over 4,000 guests and have enlisted to help of nearly 3,000 volunteers.
The Office to End Homelessness is committed to assisting in the development of workable implementation strategies that will end homelessness in the City of Norfolk within ten years.
