"Progressive Collapse Principles of Bridge Structures"

Speaker:
Dr. Mohammed Ettouney - Principal, Weidlinger Associates, Inc.

Abstract:
We will explore different factors that control the progressive collapse of bridges (PCB). These include design, analysis, inspection, maintenance, as well as initiating events. Comparisons with progressive collapse of buildings will be made. We conclude by highlighting how to apply risk management processes to bridge progressive collapse so as to maintain adequate safety at reasonable costs.
