Production Studio Orientation

Patrons who wish to reserve the Production Studio must attend this orientation session on studio equipment and reservation guidelines. Patrons may reserve the Production Studio free-of-charge on a first-come, first-served basis after completing this required orientation session.

Concepts

This orientation reviews basic procedures and safety considerations for operating our digital video camera, studio lighting, wireless microphones, teleprompter, and selecting backdrops.

Location

Production Studio, suite 460. From the library entrance, take the central elevator bank up to the 4th floor. Walk past the Information Desk and Computer Lab.

Prerequisites

Attendees must be familiar with Apple Macintosh computers and posess ability to use a keyboard and mouse. Basic knowledge and skills in digital photography and/or video production required. Basic experience performing pre- and post-production work in a studio environment strongly encouraged.

Ages

We welcome teens and adults.

Registration

Registration is free to all NPL patrons. Space is limited, and all attendees must preregister. Attendees must have a current NPL card in good standing to access the computers and resources in the Slover Studios. Attendees who are not yet NPL patrons may obtain their free card at the Circulation Desk or Concierge Desk on the 1st floor. Visit the NPL website to learn more about library cards and borrowing.
