"I had to put this behind me, because otherwise, I would have killed myself or someone."
"I never knew this could hurt so bad."
These are just a few of the numerous quotes depicting the EXCRUCIATING pain and significant impact the alleged theft of Artists' multimillion/billion dollar projects has had on their lives/health (both physical and emotional) and careers when their cases were thrown out of court, after charging major multimillion dollar networks/studios/record labels etc. with copyright infringement/theft of their Intellectual Property.
From Bob Spongee/Sponge Bob to The Biggest Loser, countless, nationally/internationally recognized movies, films, novels, songs etc. are being, allegedly, stolen and lives/careers essentially ruined when these lawsuits are filed and, allegedly illegally dismissed on Summary Judgment motions. Most disheartening is that, despite being notified through 3+ years of campaigns (and previously being issued a Department of Justice Complaint number), the government and our elected officials have done absolutely nothing to assist in stopping this alleged systemic abuse of judicial authority and denial of Artists' Seventh Amendment Constitutional Right to an unbiassed jury trial of their peers when copyright infrigement lawsuits are filed against major networks and studios.
Instead, the Summary Judgment process has now become the rule, rather than the exception. Cases are routinely dismissed based upon subjective "opinions" of judges; actions cleary and specifically prohibited by Federal Rules of Civil Procedure! For, if 96% of all networks and studios in NY and CA NEVER HAVE TO FACE A JURY in copyright cases IN THE LAST 20 YEARS*,what incentive is there for them, or anyone else employed by these mega corporations, NOT TO STEAL?
This film shows the devastating effects this process has had on the lives, finances, health and careers of five artists and the loss of millions/billions of dollars in revenues from these pieces in addition to the questionable, eerily similar (coincidental?), practices of attorneys handling many of these cases:
Case 1: Boone v. Jackson (Rap stars/superproducersFablous & The Neptunes) et. al- Young'N (Holla back) v. Holla'back
Case 2: Lassiter/2 Believers v. Dallas Austin/20th Century Fox et. al.- Pay the Price v. Drum line
Case 3: Walker v. Viacom et. al. Bob Spongee v.Sponge Bob
Case 4. Crawford v. Midway Games: Psi-Ops v. Psy-Ops (Mindgate Conspiracy) and
Case 5: Hudson v. Eddie Murphy/Universal et. a. (No Harm No Foul/Bronx House v. Life)
