Event Details

Atlanta, Georgia -The Atlanta Printmakers Studio is pleased to announce Print Big! 2014, to be held on Saturday, April 12, from 10am-4pm. This year we will be printing even bigger and better to celebrate our fifth year running this annual community art event!  Twice as many student groups, community groups, and organizations will be involved in the creation and printing of blocks.  The event is open to the public, and attendance is free.

The goal of Print Big! reflects the mission of the Atlanta Printmakers Studio -- to support and celebrate the vitality of printmaking and to educate the community about this historic image-making medium. The focus of Print Big! 2014 is fun, creativity, and collaboration. 17 participating groups from Georgia, featuring artists, community organizations, and college, university, and high school students, will design and carve 4’x8’ woodblocks that will be printed on the day of the event with a steamroller. The focus of the designs of this year’s prints is Opposites Attract so each group will be paired against another and carve images on one half of the 4’x8’ blocks.  Print Big! will feature festivities that include hands-on printmaking activities, tours of the Atlanta Printmakers Studio, food, and much more! The event will take place outside at the Atlanta Printmakers Studio, located in the Metropolitan Business and Arts District at 675 Metropolitan Parkway in Atlanta.
