Guest Lecturer: Dr. Elizabeth Cannon 

 

Engineers Without Borders (EWB): University of Calgary Chapter is proud to present Dr. Elizabeth Cannon as our Final Global Engineering Lecturer for the 2011/2012 Academic Year. The theme/focus of the lecture series will be Engineers in Society. The goal of this topic is to define how individuals can connect to community through continuous learning & purposeful leadership.

 

As the President and Vice Chancelor of the University of Calgary, Dr. Elizabeth Cannon undoubtly demonstrates leadership in her life daily, through outstanding commitment to excellence in teaching and research. In her first year as president, Elizabeth developed a shared vision of what the university could be to the city, the country and the world.

 

Dr. Cannon will be providing insight about the role of engineers as global leaders and how we can go about tackling some of the biggest challenges facing local and global communities.

 

Location: EEEL Room 161

Time: 5:00-7:00pm

Free food and coffee will be served.
