Event Details

Unlock the secrets of technical interviewing and find opportunities to put those skills to use Wednesday in South Lake Union. Amazon Web Services is hosting Gayle Laakmann McDowell’s talk on her Amazon.com best-selling book, “Cracking the Coding Interview.” Come enjoy McDowell’s presentation, meet afterward with Amazon Web Services team members, and learn about opportunities to work on the world’s leading cloud platform.

About the Presentation

CS interviews are a different breed from other interviews and, as such, require specialized skills and techniques. Cracking the Coding Interview will teach you how to prepare for coding interviews, what top companies like Amazon really look for, and how to tackle the toughest programming and algorithm problems. This talk will be technical, and will include stories from the speaker's extensive interviewing experience as well as a live "demo" of how to tackle a technical problem.

Signed copies of McDowell's Cracking the Coding Interview book will on sale after the talk.

Parking: Street parking after 6pm and parking lots available.

Refreshments: Amazon Web Services will provide light apps and drinks.

Overflow Room: We are at capacity for the main room, but we can flow over to another room in the same building via video. You'll see the same talk, and still be able to come over to the main room afterwards to chat with me. We'll separate people when they check in. (Sorry, I know this isn't ideal, but it's the best we can do!)

Location: This talk will be hosted at The Van Vorst building at Amazon in South Lake Union. The Van Vorst building is a 2 story conference center in the center of the courtyard bounded by Taylor, Boren, Republican, and Harrison streets.
