The premise behind behavioral interviewing is that the most accurate predictor of future performance is past performance in similar situations. Behavioral interviewing is said to be 55 percent predictive of future on-the-job behavior, while traditional interviewing is only 10 percent predictive.
Behavioral-based interview focuses on past performance and behaviors and will allows you the chance to showcase your skills, abilities and knowledge through providing specific examples from your previous experiences. The interviewer does not want to know what you think you can do in the future; they want to know what you have done and how you did it. Interviews generally, are not difficult but unless you are prepared, they can prove to be quite challenging or even unsettling.
