Event Details

JULY 25th - JULY 31st

Dan Beers film premiered at SXSW 2014 and is a coming-of-age sex comedy that could be described as a cross between "American Pie" and "Groundhog Day." We witness Rob's day rewind and begin again. Every time Rob orgasms, he is thrown back in time and forced to begin the same day over again -- a day that seems to start off rather awkwardly when his mother barges into his bedroom unannounced and finds him lying on top of his sheets, wearing a damp pair of underwear.

Premature is a great little sex comedy that deals with some deeper emotions than just losing your virginity,’ stated Harawitz. ‘We wanted to do something that reflected our sense of humor in high school, but also seemed like an original take on a familiar structure that we could exploit to our comedic advantage!’

It's 'American Pie' meets 'Groundhog Day' in this hilarious and tender coming-of-age comedy. Rob is facing the biggest day of his life. He needs to nail a college interview ensuring his admittance to his parents' beloved alma mater, keep his cool when life-long crush Angela (nicknamed 'After School Special' for a reason) finally seems to show interest, and deal with his best friends as they realize their high school days are ending. As pressure mounts, something weird happens. He finds himself reliving the day's events over and over again. Is Rob stuck in a dream? Experiencing déjà vu? Having a psychotic break? Whether it's finding a way to get into Georgetown, into Angela's pants, or having an even bigger epiphany, Rob must figure out how to break the cycle before losing his mind. - See more at: http://arenascreen.com/event/premature/?eID=1438#sthash.Rskkl42h.dpuf
