Predicting Threats to Focus Defense
Data analytics and predictive analytics can extend beyond predicting behavior patterns of what a consumer may purchase to predicting threats. Look at two examples of use of this technology in presentations by Sam Kolontouros from Northrop Grumman and Steve Pieczko from RelMap Software. Back in 2002, The Minority Report was released whose plot included the prediction of crimes before they actually occurred. Let’s see how close we are to reaching that end.
Part 1: How to Stop the Next Enron
The Enron Analysis takes a look at the emotional state of Kenneth Lay, Jeffrey Skilling and other Enron executives that were convicted of conspiracy to commit securities and wire fraud.
Learn what we discovered when we processed thousands of Enron communications against our algorithms that evaluated emotion, pronoun and noun usage, frequency, key words and phrases. By understanding how corporate individuals react to events and communications we can identify behavior patters that can alert or predict the next Enron.
Part 2: Where will Al-Qaeda Strike Next
This presentation takes a look at patterns of religious words in Al-Qaeda public statements leading up to and after September 11th where these patterns can be used as a predictive model to focus antiterrorism efforts.
