Create, Curate and Collaborate - Visible Thinking and Learning with Digital Portfolios - NEW!

If we truly want to “transform” education, it is time we realize that we have at our disposal the digital tools necessary to gather very rich and valuable information about each individual student. All of the incredible learning that happens in the classroom can now be captured, curated and shared in an online student portfolio. If done correctly, digital portfolios should serve as a window into student thinking and understanding. In this day long workshop, you will learn the pedagogy behind effective and purposeful student portfolios. You will leave with a solid understanding of the best tools needed to gather, house and publish student work using Google Apps for Education.

Chromebook Party NEW!

This comprehensive workshop develops awareness of current instructional practice and exposes participants to the changes that need to occur in order for a 1:1 initiative with Chromebooks to be successful. Customized for the audience; includes overview of integrating Teacher Dashboard into the 1:1 classroom for effective instruction.

What teachers will learn:
-Introduction to the Chromebook in the classroom
-Specific and targeted strategies to think about and redesign their learning spaces
-How to utilize Teacher Dashboard for classroom management & feedback
-Best practices for 1:1 classroom management

Google Certified Educator Bootcamp (for Trainers)

The Google Educator Certification Bootcamp serves two purposes: to raise awareness about how Google Apps can be used in education (with students and among colleagues), and to prepare participants to get qualified as a Google Educator, inspired to share with even more learners and teachers.

Each session includes an interactive overview, top tips from the Google Apps for Education Learning Center, hands-on activities, and inspiring ideas for how to use Google Apps for teaching, learning, and professional collaboration. The activities are flexible, designed to help new users quickly understand the "core magic" of each app - and to challenge veteran users by revealing features and innovative uses they never imagined. The experience is grounded in Google culture, complete with high-energy fast-paced demonstrations and challenging activities that can truly be called "hard fun." There is no better preparation for teaching and learning with Google Apps - or for becoming a Google Educator.

Important Notes:

Taking the tests and applying for certification is not necessary for participating in the bootcamp.

(Certification is not included in the bootcamp (passing five tests, submitting an application, and approval from Google are required following the event).
