Event Details

Join us in the parking lot of the Lester Community Center for corporate prayer followed by joining hands at each adjacent street surrounding the Tillman area. The prayer chain is open to all, with special invitations made to ALL city and county municipalities, non-profits and area clergy.

The Orange Mound Community-according to police and media reports have a lot of crime activity within the community in recent years. Orange Mound is stereotyped by some as a place that has succumbed to urban decay and high crime incidents, driven by high unemployment and an under-skilled labor force. Through this event, The Prayer Garden of Memphis will present an atmosphere of unity in the community for the city and citizens living in the Orange Mound area by joining hands and connecting around adjacent areas in the community praying for change in the Orange Mound community economic conditions and a crime ceasefire. PGOM hope to encourage the community and the citizens in improving the conditions upon this once renowned community.
