Converged Media: Why it’s of vital importance to any content marketing strategy
The amount of stories posted online on a daily basis is enough to make anyone’s head spin. Cut through the noise by making sure paid, earned and owned media are the foundation of your PR/marketing plan. The best content strategies not only focus on posting content to your website and promoting it on social channels, but also incorporates the reach that paid media offers. Not to mention, amplifying a positive piece of earned media on paid channels is the equivalent of a testimonial.
In this session, we’ll discuss how to balance the three mediums and how to easily repurpose your content to boost your message across all platforms.
About Laurie Mahoney
Laurie Mahoney is the director of product marketing for Cision focusing mostly on the Connect suite which includes press release distribution and content marketing products. She is also tasked with driving and developing marketing materials for several of the company’s products including launch materials, branded content, press releases, customer presentations, webinars, conferences and sales training. She works closely with Cision’s product development team to help drive future product development. In addition, she regularly presents on Cision’s customer-facing webinars focused on content marketing and SEO. She’s a blogger for Cision Blog.

PRAL NOLA 2014 Awards
SENIOR PRACTITIONER AWARD
The senior practitioner designation was established to honor SPRF members who are recognized by their peers as veteran public relations professionals with high ethical standing. Nomination and selection is made by local chapter based on criteria set by the Federation. To receive the designation “senior practitioner,” a recipient must qualify in threeof the following four criteria:
- 15 years of full-time public relations experience
- Accreditation by a UAB member organization
- Officer or board member at chapter, state or SPRF level
- Recognition of professionalism as evidenced by such awards as Practitioner of the Year, Lantern Award or similar honor
Intent to nominate deadline: Friday, May 30, 2014
Completed nomination deadline: Friday, July 18
HALL OF FAME AWARD
The Southern Public Relations Federation Hall of Fame was established in 2010 to recognize the distinguished accomplishments, commitment and leadership of professional public relations practitioners and educators from the southeastern United States, for the benefit of promoting the PR profession. Inductees are current and former southern public relations practitioners or educators who have brought honor to the PR field.
Induction into the Hall is intended to identify leaders in our industry who should be recognized and honored for their extraordinary achievements, accomplishments and contributions to their organizations, communities and the public relations profession.
Criteria for selection includes 25 years or more of professional experience by candidates who:
- have brought honor to the profession of public relations (Inductees may also be recognized for some strong contribution to their company, organization, city, state or region.);
- may be deceased;
- may have shown leadership at the local, state and regional levels of SPRF and member organizations and chapters; and/or
- may have demonstrated professional practice and behavior that are characteristic and consistent with the SPRF Code of Ethics.
Materials required for entry include:
- Narrative (must be typed and mo more than 500 words)
- Letters of Support (maximum of two)
- Biographical data/curriculum vitae (preferred but optional)
- Photo of nominee
Completed nomination deadline: Friday, May 30
