PRAL Nola Presents: New Media Trends for a New Year
Social media tools and the Internet have had a profound influence on the way we communicate to our audiences today. They’ve changed the news cycle and, in turn, how media operate to get news out. Over the past few years, we’ve watched as social media tools have taken a larger role in delivering breaking news to consumers, and we’ve seen a steady rise in the number of consumers that get their daily news updates from their computers, emails, tablets and smartphones.
As we kick off 2014, we’re taking a look ahead and making predictions for what changes we might encounter with the media landscape this year so we, as PR professionals, can continue to meet the needs of and understand how best to work with the media. Join us on January 14 as we hear from and connect with producers representing various mediums across the New Orleans area. Moderated by University of New Orleans Professor Dr. Pamela Kennett-Hensel, the panel includes Rhonda Grzych, executive producer for Fox 8 News; Scott Simon, producer of IHeartNola.com and Martha Carr, managing editor for The New Orleans Advocate.
You’ll hear the panel’s thoughts on the state of the media industry and foreseeable media trends for their respective mediums followed by a Q&A session.
