Want to learn about welding and metal fabrication but not sure where to start? Get trained on the MIG welder and support tools and learn about fabrication techniques while building steel structures and doing some example metal repair work.
This class is designed for adults/professionals looking for daytime skills training.
Students will gain experience with MIG welding, grinding and fitting, as well as some light sheet metal working.
Students must be at least 18 years of age.
All tools, steel, and consumables will be provided, the cost of which is included in the registration fee.
What to Bring/Wear:
- Cotton clothing that you don't mind getting dirty (synthetics burn and melt)
- Long sleeves and pants
- Closed-toe shoes
- Something to cover your hair: baseball cap and bandanas work well
Paul Carson is an engineer by training and metalworking enthusiast. After years of making bicycle powered sculptures, a recumbent trike, gas powered bumper cars and other contraptions, he designed his own bicycle building process using the fixture and manufacturing process design skills he learned working as a manufacturing engineer.

After that point refunds are contingent upon the Asylum being able to fill the seat. No refunds whatsoever are offered for same-day cancellations. CANCELLATIONS: Your class may be cancelled if too few people register. A decision will be made a few days before the class is scheduled to run, and you will be notified of the cancellation and your registration refunded in full.
