Event Details

In this 1.5-hour workshop based on the concepts of Positive Discipline, parents and caregivers will learn about the long-term results of rewards and punishments, as well as practice some amazingly effective and practical Positive Discipline techniques for kids 10 months to 3 years old.

Facilitator:
Marcilie Smith Boyle is the mother of three children ages 5, 9, and 12. All three of her children enjoyed Gymboree for many years! She became certified as a Positive Discipline Parenting Educator after having spent 16 years professionally in marketing and management consulting. She is also a Certified Life & Business Coach. Habitot Children's Museum features interactive play and learning exhibits and an Art Studio all geared exclusively for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, 0-5, and their parents/caregivers. Adults are encouraged join in the fun which helps their children learn concepts, language, and social skills and which nurtures family relationships. Habitot's exhibits and programs bolster brain development and growth in the early years. Habitot reaches out to and includes a socio-economically and culturally diverse audience, and maintains dedicated programs after-hours for teen parents, special needs families, and homeless families and other vulnerable children. Habitot, 16-year old nonprofit, relies on tax-deductible donations as well as admissions and memberships. Its mission is to provide all young children with opportunities for imaginative, open-ended dramatic play and to develop their curiosity, creativity and confidence for lifelong learning.
