Portfolio Day at the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco

Have you ever wanted to learn more about The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) in White River Junction, Vermont?  Well if so, we can save you a trip across the country!  CCS has partnered with the Cartoon Art Museum to offer a Portfolio Day right here in San Francisco. It will be an action-packed day!

• Learn more about our MFA and Certificate programs
• Take a virtual tour the Vermont campus
• Meet faculty and alumni
• Art demo by animator and color designer Jenny Hansen!
• Admissions Portfolio Reviews (bring a sketchbook, minicomic, comics pages or URL!)

Schedule of events:
11am Overview of The Center for Cartoon Studies
Noon-3pm Art demos, prospective student portfolio reviews

Followed by a Special Screening of Cartoon College at 3pm!

At 3pm we will be wrapping up portfolio day with a screening of the 75-minute documentary Cartoon College which was directed by Tara Wray and Josh Melrod. It will give students a good idea of what it’s like to attend CCS.

About the Cartoon Art Museum: From editorial cartoons to comic books, graphic novels to anime, Sunday funnies to Saturday morning cartoons, the Cartoon Art Museum has something for everyone. The Center for Cartoon Studies 

The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) is America’s premier cartooning school and studio located in the historic village of White River Junction, Vermont. CCS programs include a two-year Master of Fine Arts Degree, one- and two-year certificates in cartooning, and annual summer workshops. Faculty and visiting artists include many of today’s most celebrated cartoonists. The Center for Cartoon Studies course of study is designed for a small group of dedicated students with a passion and appreciation for graphic novels, storytelling, writing, comics, and design. Faculty includes experienced and internationally recognized cartoonists, writers, and designers. Now offering the MFA degree and One- and Two-Year Certificates in Cartooning.
