Los Gatos, CA

For the first time in Los Gatos history the Purple Onion Cafe will be hosting a Porchetta Bingo Night on Saturday, August 23 starting at 5:00pm. Guests will enjoy the most awesome roasted porchetta and other food goodies between rousing rounds of bingo at their location on Winchester Blvd.
While researching recipes, Purple Onion Cafe chef and owner Steve Angelo, came across an article about a town in Canada that plays Porchetta Bingo during the winter as an enticement to drag people out of their snowbound homes. While the South Bay is currently enjoying some amazingly beautiful weather, chef Steve knows a good time when he sees it, and wanted to bring that kind of excitement to Los Gatos.
The Italians have perfected the art of roasting meats in the cleverest of ways and porchetta is undoubtedly one of the tastiest dishes ever created. Mixing and stuffing, wrapping and binding to coax blissfully aromatic flavors that make even the haughtiest of foodies mouth water.
Break away from the end of summer BBQ doldrums and enjoy something completely different under the Los Gatos stars. Not only will the food and wine be amazing, but guests can win great bingo prizes like gift certificates, t-shirts and some pretty fine wines as well.
Plus, all of the proceeds from bingo benefit the Children's Tumor Foundation. This is an opportunity to have some serious fun while giving back to the South Bay’s most amazingly strong and deserving children.
Seating is limited, so be sure to order your tickets today!
Check in to save your seats between 5:00 - 5:30 and enjoy a glass of Lambrusco on us! Food festivities will begin between 5:30 5:45 with the first round of appetizers and then we will jump right into BINGO around 6:00ish. It's $10 for 5 games of bingo and you can always buy more cards to increase your chances of winning.

Porchetta [porˈketta] is a savory, fatty, and moist boneless pork roast of Italian culinary tradition. The body of the pig is gutted, deboned, arranged carefully with layers of stuffing, meat, fat, and skin, then rolled, spitted, and roasted, traditionally over wood. Porchetta is usually heavily salted in addition to being stuffed with garlic, rosemary, fennel, or other herbs, often wild. Porchetta has been selected by the Italian Ministero delle Politiche Agricole, Alimentari e Forestali as a prodotto agroalimentare tradizionale (“traditional agricultural-alimentary product”, one of a list of traditional Italian foods held to have cultural relevance).
