Poor Mans Whiskey w/ Achilles Wheel at the Auburn Event Center & Roadhouse
Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 7:00 PM - Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 1:00 AM (PST)
Update!! Come on time or early Achilles Wheel Will start as soon as there is a crowd!!!
Poor Mans Whiskey just completed a packed show at the Fillmore Auditorium and is blowing away audiences from near and far - I am so thrilled to be able to present this incredible band and allow folks to see their show at a very fair price & on a Saturday Night to boot - The addition of Sean Lehe on electric guitar has taken PMW to the next level - and know all will be blown away by this show!
Achilles Wheel has been amazing the Foothill and Sacramento Valley crowds for some time now, I and they will be celebrating the release of their first CD. Achilles Wheel combines the songs and feel of the Grateful Dead, along with their mix of originals and other covers that all come together to create a new and fresh experience.
The intimate and unique setting of the Event Center will be the perfect match for the special experience Poor Mans Whiskey brings, as they and the audience come together to enjoy one hell of a night - the weather outside may be brisk, but it will be sizzlin' inside! - More to come, but here is a take on PMW stolen from their website:
Poor Man's Whiskey plays High Octane Hootenanny music…Dance, laugh, sing.
Emerging from the San Francisco bay area music scene this quintet has developed a sound that is eclectic and engaging. PMW has been winning over national audiences with their upbeat performances, zany stage antics, and infectious songs. While seamlessly integrating acoustic and electric instruments the band weaves tales of everyday life, inviting the audience to become a part of each show.
PMW has released five studio albums, “Hunnerd Proof”(2002), Train to California (2003), Roadside Attraction(2005), Dark Side of the Moonshine (2009; a double disk set featuring original music as well as the bluegrass interpretation of the Pink Floyd classic album) and in May of 2011 the band released Goodbye California.
