Event Details

We are tomorrow. The future rides on our shoulders. We see brokenness and we want to make a difference. On one hand we are hopeful, and in the other we are filled with fear. Our passion to bring good pushes our dreams forward. We believe we can make the world a better place. Even if we only influence a few, it is worth every minute if only we can overcome our apathy. A poetic view on life may seem unreasonable, we know others can’t understand what is being birthed within us, and the ideas in our minds are much larger than may seem possible. But to create something from nothing is our mission. To address social needs is our progression. What is to come is bright. The difference we can make is worth the sweat equity. Collaboration with like-minded is essential. More than one working together only makes our canvas stronger. The hope is too big to not pursue. Nothing will hold us back. We will create something new.

We will be known by the problems we solve. We are Plywood People.

Social is changing everything. Businesses are engaging in creating social value and considering their social responsibility. As Stanford declared, The world’s most creative minds are “dissolving boundaries and brokering a dialogue between the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.” Technology has changed the meaning of conversation. Innovation is progressing at a rapid pace resulting in social concern and a need for evaluation. How do we move forward in the social era? Who is finding success and who is neglected? How will innovation play a role moving forward? Join a limited audience of 220 passionate influencers, entrepreneurs, creatives, and non-profit executives for a one day conversation on the value of Social Innovation.

Plywood People

Hello. We are Plywood People, a 501[c]3 organization in Atlanta leading a community of start-ups doing good. We exist to help our community make problems go away that impact our culture, the hurting, poor, oppressed and under-resourced people.

We are always searching for innovators addressing social problems, with the hope of integrating them in our community. We lead conversations and collaboration between the privileged and those in need through educational environments, sustainable ventures, community places, social experiments, storytelling projects, cause marketing campaigns, and new consumption patterns.
