Event Details

The Planning for the Future of Your Family Lands Workshop, offered by the Conservation Trust for Florida and Bradford County Extension, aims to provide participants with an understanding of their assets and estate and inform them of the use of conservation easements as an estate planning tool. This series of three workshops will build on one another, with the first emphasizing the importance of planning for the future of their land and an introduction to private land conservation, specifically conservation easements. The second workshop covers the potential financial incentives that go along with the donation or sale of conservation easements. The final workshop in the series provides guidance on the details involved with placing a conservation easement on one's land, including typical costs involved and determining an organization to work with. This workshop is best suited to landowners with over 40 acres of land, due to the specific nature of the conservation tools and benefits.

Workshops are taught using an interactive, small group format, known as Process Oriented, Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL). Participants can expect to be actively engaged in thought provoking activities that promote self-discovery.

Please join us July 24th from 10 am to 3 pm at the Bradford County Agricultural Extension Office, located at 2266 N. Temple Ave., in Starke. Registration is $10, and lunch is provided. If you would like a vegetarian option, please send this request to molly@conserveflorida.org.  To register directly with Conservation Trust for Florida, please contact us at (352) 376-4770.
