Placarding Program Workshop

On April 29th, 2014 the County Board of Supervisors voted and approved the combined placarding and scoring system. The Restaurant Placarding/Scoring System includes posting colored placards (green, yellow, red) at food facilities and detailed inspection results with numerical compliance scores online.
The County of Santa Clara Department of Environmental Health (DEH) will be hosting public workshops for consumers and business owners during the month of September. The goal of the workshops will be to introduce our new Food Facility Placarding & Scoring system; review the new Food Facility Inspection Results website; and provide information on the meaning of the color placard and compliance score. The workshops will be presented in five languages including English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean.
The public can weigh in on the general look and feel, functionality and ease of understanding of the new Food Facility Inspection Results website by completing the integrated survey. DEH plans to make it available in a beta phase, with test data loaded to simulate the actual user experience, starting in September.
