The PKUAANC CD (Career Development) team and EnE club (Entrepreneur and Executive club) are presenting a free seminar on “Job Searching” with Tom (Qi) Zhang, former senior HR& talent acquisition expert at Tencent America and senior talent scout member at Google International Staffing Team.

Outline of the seminar will be:

1. What are the common job search channels?

2. What are the most useful job boards online?

3. Is networking/referral the most effective way to get a job

4. What is a good resume?

5. Should I follow the 1-page rule on my resume?

6. What are the hot skills in today's job market?

7. What are the common mistakes in resume writing?

8. The more resumes you submit, the higher chance to get a job. Is it true?

9. How to prepare for a job interview?

10. When is the best time to negotiate an offer?

 

The session will be interactive and audience's participation is highly encouraged.

 

Tom (Qi) Zhang

Tom (Qi) Zhang is the Founding Partner at YouHire LLC that is specialized in recruiting US based talent for Chinese companies. YouHire clients include Tesla Motors, Haier, UCWeb, AutoNavi, Dianping, etc. Tom has extensive experience in recruiting technology, product and leadership positions. Previously, Tom worked as a senior HR& talent acquisition expert at Tencent America. Prior to Tencent, Tom was a senior talent scout member at Google International Staffing Team, supporting Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, former President of Google China. Tom is also familiar with employee relationship, benefits & compensation, HR/labor laws both in China and the US. Tom received his PhD degree from Zhejiang University.
