Each entrepreneur will pitch for five minutes, followed by five minutes of Q & A from the investor panel.
There will be five pitchers participating. There will be prizes awarded to the top pitcher and the runner up.
There will also be door prizes given out to some lucky attendees.
While there will be some food and refreshments available courtesy of our sponsors, attendees are asked to bring food and drinks to share -- in the spirit of community, collaboration, and crowd sourcing. : - )

1. Victor Jiang, CEO, SkillSapien.com

Phalula increases click-through rates and sales for companies selling online to consumers. Phalula discovers and extracts a consumer’s personality style from social media and uses it to better target ads. Phalula has developed an algorithm using social data to predict personality type (Facebook now, Twitter coming soon). Initial tests using the algorithm resulted in call-to-action improvements of 5-10X.

5. Frances Nevarez, CEO, FutobolConnect.com
There are 30 M futbol (soccer) players around the world. Many have talent but will never be discovered and nurtured to their potential. Futbolconnect makes an app for the “Global Futbol Community” that helps youth and coaches be discovered.
Mike Loftus is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) at The Angel's Forum. He brings over 20 years' experience working with startups and early stage companies. He has held senior leadership roles with several young companies including E-machines, Graphic Media, Spectron, Connectix, Netfish Technologies and inFreeDA.
Mike is also the Founder of The Glue USA, which advises early stage companies on building leadership teams, defining product roadmaps, building market entry strategy and sourcing investment capital. He mentors Australian companies through the ANZA Technology Network and Danish companies through Innovation Center Denmark. In 2012, Mike served as the first Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Cogswell College in Sunnyvale. He has also mentored high school and college students through SAGE Global and the Haas School of Business.
Mike has degrees in business and computer engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, and the Executive MBA program at Stanford University and completed the Franklin Covey Leadership Program.
Michael Borrus is the founding General Partner of XSeed Capital. An entrepreneur and former academic, he has authored three books and over 70 chapters, articles and monographs on topics including the internet and data networking, management of technology, competition in information technology industries, international trade and investment, and financial strategies for technology companies. The common thread in his varied careers has been a focus on emerging new technologies, and the business models and strategies necessary to exploit new market opportunities.
Before founding XSeed in 2006, Michael was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Mohr Davidow Ventures. He also spent 5 years leading the technology practice at The Petkevich Group, a financial services and investment start-up. Prior to that, Michael was Adjunct Professor in UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering, and a partner in the business consulting firm Industry and Trade Strategies. While at UC Berkeley, he co-founded the Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy.
Michael serves on several National Academy of Science / National Research Council steering committees, and is Vice-Chairman of the Academy Committee on Competing in the 21st Century. He also serves on the board of trustees for the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT), The Bay Area Council Economic Institute (BACEI), and is a member of the UC Berkeley School of Mechanical Engineering External Advisory Board.
Michael holds a BA from Princeton University, MA from UC Berkeley, and JD from Harvard Law School.
Hon Wong is Entrepreneur In Residence at Tech Futures Group.
As a founder, executive, angel investor, and active board member of technology start-ups, Hon has led multiple start-ups through their entire life-cycle from conception and growth to exits through IPOs and M&As.
Hon has extensive hands-on experience with all aspects of the start-up process. He has worked with and guided many management teams through the challenges faced by all technology start-ups. These include fund raising, team building, competitive positioning, market and partnership development, pivoting, and go to market strategy formation and execution. Hon has worked with enterprise software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure and manufacturing service companies.
Today, Hon sits on the board of a number of technology companies. He is also cultivating a couple of start-up opportunities in the area of SaaS and mobile apps.
Prior, Hon was EVP of marketing and business development at Coradiant. He also co-founded Ecosystems, NetIQ, Digital Market, Centrify, and sat on the board of many companies, including Relevant Technologies (Flextronics). Early in his career, he was a product manager at Intel and 3Com.
Hon received dual B.Sc. in electrical and industrial engineering from Northwestern University, and earned his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Gary Jinks is the founder and managing director of South Valley Angels and president of GLJ Group.

Gary has excelled at product development and product commercialization across, defense, high tech, clean tech and industrial/automotive markets. He has worked with a wide range of companies; from early stage start-ups to fortune 500. Gary sits on the board for the Morgan Hill Community Partnership and regularly mentors start-up companies through his membership with the VC Private Equity, as well as organizations such as the Clean Tech Open. Since 2004 Gary has been the owner and President of GLJ Group providing business and product development consulting and services. During this time Gary has generated over $300M in new business for his clients and developed products ranging from circuit boards, B2B eCommerce Solutions to combat vehicles.
In 2008 Gary received the coveted BAE Systems Chairman’s award for process innovation and management, rarely given to a consultant. Prior to GLJ Group Gary developed the strategic planning and direction for Rockwell Collins expansion into the Army ground systems market. Gary helped launch two dotcom start-ups where he was introduced to the venture capital business model. Gary began his career with FMC (later United Defense) and was a key team member contributing to the design and development of over 20 combat vehicles. Gary is a graduate of the US Army NCO Academy; Systems Engineering from Portland State University, and holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
Dan Miller is chief investment officer and co-founder of Cloud Mobile Social Ventures (CMSV), a strategic investment group that focuses on earning stage companies.
As a board member of several firms, Dan takes an active interest in company building, growth and development of portfolio companies. Throughout the past 20 years, Dan has worked on Wall Street, where as a technical and executive consultant, he led initiatives for several major brokerage firms that moved the industry to online, real-time and global
trading. Prior to and during this time, Dan was the founder/co-founder of three companies in segments from industrial products to management consulting, all of which had successful exits.
Dan is a longtime volunteer with Score East Bay, where he collaborates with 30 others professionals providing counseling and workshops for entreprenurs and business owners.
Dan has an MBA from St. Mary’s, PMP and holds several FINRA Securities Brokerage Licenses.
