Pig Iron Theatre Workshop: Ordinary/Extraordinary, Entrances & Exits
Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
The wonderful problem of doing nothing in front of an audience. We can make the uneventful worth watching and the banal engaging if we attune our sensitivities. Can we make the audience say: “Nothing is happening, but I am compelled to watch”? When the actor enters or exits, can s/he change the audience's perception of time simply with breath and gaze? Pig Iron Co-Artistic Director Dan Rothenberg revisits some provocations from legendary director Joseph Chaikin and works with participants on a series of improvisations in which a dream emerges from an everyday moment.
Pre-show mixer catered by The Livermore, cafe and cocktail bar and second venture for the owners of Bar Marco, located at 124 S Highland Ave. in East Liberty and serving fresh fare and fine libations.
